In 2027, the Muri Abbey will celebrate its 1,000th anniversary. To mark this special occasion, various festivities and projects are planned both in Switzerland and here at the Muri-Gries Abbey.

Key Dates Already Scheduled:

March 19, 2027– Presentation of the historical records

June 4, 2027– Official ceremony (Friday evening)

June 5, 2027– Festive Mass with Bishop Ivo Muse (Saturday morning)

November 11, 2027– Festive Mass for St. Martin’s Day, followed by a gathering for managers and employees (Thursday morning)
December 31, 2027– Conclusion of the jubilee year with the New Year's Eve stall hosted by the Gries Citizens' Band (Bürgerkapelle Gries)
